SC Vimetco Extrusion Srl has achieved ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) Certification for the manufacturing of extruded aluminium profiles and shapes at its facility at Slatina, Romania. The plant is equipped with three extrusion lines, with the facility capable of producing up to 35,000 tonnes annually.  Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that SC Vimetco Extrusion Srl has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard. The company produces extruded products and shapes for the building and construction, solar, automotive and transportation sectors, as well as broader industry applications.  The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard (V2) defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria, with the aim to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain. It sets out 59 criteria under the three sustainability pillars of Environment, Social, and Governance, which address key issues such as biodiversity, labour rights, Indigenous Peoples rights, and greenhouse gas emissions.

This new automatic extrusion line for aluminium profiles is the third one for Vimetco Extrusion. The new press sustains Vimetco Extrusion strategy to increase its production capacity for high value-added aluminium products, thus delivering to its customers an extensive portfolio of customized solutions

The 7” extrusion line is highly efficient in terms of production capabilities and reduced energy consumption. Thus, the entire process is automated, being able to extrude profiles up to a length of 60 meters, with a speed of 50 meter/minute, while having the lowest guaranteed gas consumption on the market and being equipped with an efficient energy-saving system, as well as with independently operated water and air-cooling zones designed to efficiently allocate resources.

The new extrusion line will increase Vimetco Extrusion’s yearly production capacity by 11,000 tons, reaching a total annual capacity of 35,000 tons by the end of 2022.

ALRO Group supports UNICEF in Romania with RON 300,000 to help children affected by the war in Ukraine

• Through their donations, ALRO and Vimetco Extrusion support the establishment of “Blue Dot” support centers specially designed for refugee children and their families, offering both immediate and long-term solutions.
• ALRO joins the UNICEF in Romania campaign with RON 200,000 and Vimetco Extrusion supports this initiative with RON 100,000.
• UNICEF in Romania has already set up 2 “Blue Dot” centers at the border crossings in Sighetu Marmației and Siret and these donations will support the establishment of similar centers at the border crossings between Ukraine and Romania
